This is not a secret!
Fruits are packed with vitamins for good-looking skin, but did you know that eating fruits alone is not always the best way to rip their full beauty benefits?
Apparently, some people are putting and rubbing these sweet juicy goodies directly onto their faces and are seeing amazing results!
It’s kind of like covering your eyes with cucumber slices, except you’re using fruits instead. Doing so will allow your pores to absorb all the natural goodness and nutrients directly onto your skin.
Let me show you some real-life examples.
Strawberry
Emma Matthews from Bustle decided to try a strawberry cleanser used by a classic female icon, Marilyn Monroe. Like a lot of women, Emma has pale skin and is a constant battler of hormonal outbreaks.
She tried the natural cleanser for 1 week and the result was quite impressive!
Ingredients:
- Water – 1 cup
- Large strawberries – 5 pieces
- Honey (optional)
Directions:
- Put everything into a blender
- Blend until it turns into a mash
- Use a cotton pad to rub mixture all over the face in a circular motion
- Rinse with warm water
If you don’t have a blender, simply use a fork to mash everything together in a bowl. This mixture will only last about 3 days before the strawberries go off so you will need to make another batch to continue the regime.
Watermelon
Delaney Holliday believes that using watermelon as a face mask can heal blemishes, tighten and tone your skin naturally. She’s even uploaded a video on youtube to show everyone how it’s done.
Despite the video quality, this woman is beautiful and I can almost feel how hydrated her skin is just from looking at it. I guess she’s the perfect example of why this skincare routine works.
The entire process is very simple and comes down to 5 steps.
- Extract juice from fresh watermelon slice using a fork, blender or juicer.
- Soak a piece of cotton ball into the juice
- Apply watermelon juice over the whole face
- Leave it on for 20 mins until dry
- Rinse with cold water
If there are any leftover juice, simply pour it into a small bottle or container and keep it refrigerated.
Banana Peel
The next time you think about throwing this inedible, gooey, and slimy piece of waste in the bin, think about how this YouTuber used it to her advantage.
Her name is Leesa Unique and after rubbing banana peels on her face for 5 days, she claimed it has reduced her pimples and lightened her acne scars.
Check it out.
Towards the end of the video, you can definitely see some differences.
Although the lighting might have played a part, Leesa’s face does look visibly brighter and some of the scarrings seem to have gone lighter too.
The fact that she is barefaced tells me she has nothing to hide but in saying that, I don’t think the difference is huge.
Tomato
Before you ask me if tomato is a fruit or vegetable, it is both!
Now that part is sorted, let’s get onto something more important because Tomi here has been using tomatoes to achieve her near-flawless skin and I can’t wait to try it!
In the video, she said this routine will:
- Shrink pores
- Brighten skin
- Even out exessive oil
- Eliminate dead skin cells
- Fight acne
Honestly, I’m sold just by looking at her.
The skin tone and complexion of this girl are truly stunning. Her skin is literally glowing from every angle so it’s hard not to believe every word she said.
I just want to go home right now and try her methods right away. I’m sure you feel the same way too so let me make this easier for both of us.
Ingredients:
- Tomato
- Honey
- Brown Sugar
Directions:
- Mix honey and brown sugar in a bowl to form a scrub
- Cut tomato into halves
- Pour the scrub mix on top of the halved tomato
- Start scrubbing your face in small circular motions
- Continue for 2 mins
- Leave on skin for 5 minutes before washing
According to Tomi, you should immediately feel smoother and clearer skin after the wash. Do this every night for a more youthful appearance.
